                         What is Digital Citizenship?

 

According to the Digital Citizenship Institute, "digital citizenship is a concept which helps teachers, technology leaders and parents to understand what students/children/technology users should know to use technology appropriately". Basically, digital citizenship is knowing how to appropriately use technology. The idea of digital citizenship awareness involves educating students and teachers on how not to misuse and abuse technology.

What Does it Mean to be a Digital Citizen? 

Being a digital citizen means that a person must be safe when using the internet by protecting personal information, respecting others, and balancing time when using the internet.
